Mattd@Apple.Com complains of the attacks on Apple and how he is doing such good for the product. Yes, Matt, Apple II Developer Tech Support is wonderful. There is a real love for the machine there, and some exciting things going on. But out here in the good old USA some bad things are going on for Apple, stuff that you in Cupertino have no idea of. For example, our school district of 130 buildings is putting in an inter-school network. They chose to install IBM equipment, and continue to push it. Why? Because there is an IBM rep practically living in our data processing center, telling everyone he can find of HIS solutions to our problems. This is office stuff now, but eventually will move into the instructional setting, where we have over 4,000 IIe's. IBM has hinted strongly that we should move the II's out of the high schools, and put in MS-DOS machines. Where is my complaint with Apple? Well, our department has told people at Apple about this, and they just ignore us! They like the $1,000,000 orders they get now, but no one is paying attention to the future! There are some BIG sales being lost here, and no one at Apple seems to care. Anyway, Matt, Dave, Eric and the rest of the DTS group...thanks for all that you do. Please understand that we recognize and respect your committment and expertise. If only you could send some of that spirit to the cold midwest!
