Please tell your friends that sending 'test messages' to 12,000 or so
people is a great way of receiving LOTS of irate replies.
If you need to send a test ===> DO NOT SEND IT TO A LIST!!! <===
Instead, send it to: listname-request@node.domain
(in this case: info-apple-request@brl.mil) Most list owners are 'good guys'
(Brint Cooper who IS info-apple-reqeust is very helpful and WILL reply to
test messages).
If all you want to know is whether something you post to USENET gets out,
why not send a short, useful message - such as: where on EARTH is pro-palace
(Buckingham, Czar's, Versailles, wishful thinking ;-)?
Ask a question; if you receive an answer, you'll know your "test :-)" worked.

Please do NOT sent 'test' messages to World-wide lists :-(
Surely you have something more interesting to say that you could use as
a 'test' If you want to know whether you can get mail out, send
info-apple-reques@apple.com your 'test' message (he's a nice guy and
will email you a reply.
<posted to the list only because there have been several of these (largely
from pro-line sites) in the past few weeks; maybe we can DISCOURAGE others
