Ok, I'm now on my own time just as so many of the Apple people who still bother to read this group. This won't please you so just skip it if you wish. It's 4AM and I've just finished writing up an article that has to be sent off tomorrow(today I mean=March13,1990). I'm still rather upset at the string of messages coming from some Apple employees(with the disclaimer) I read to day at work. I don't know some object specialist(whatever that is) from Toys-R-Us was telling us that complaining via this group is useless and we need to send our complaints to the proper channels(management). This was supported by some other messages(sorry about the lack of footnotes-no doubt my graduate students will point this out to me). After all why make life unpleasant for the people at Apple who read this group? Well who is running the company? Is it the MBA's or the engineers or a combination. If posting to this group is of no use(and I believe it is as evidenced by my mailbox), then perhaps cross posting to every one of Apple's competitors groups along with some cc'd letters might help. What a bunch of nonsense. People who read the net will have an influence one way or another. I doubt that they are getting a very good impression of Apple Computer if my mail is any evidence. I frankly don't have the time(someone mention 60 hour weeks-well others are in the same boat ) to be sending off letters to Sculley,etc...and the varying list of Apple executives. I'm the customer. It is their job to find out what users think, not mine. They are, I believe, sufficiently well paid to send a little memo to the engineers,etc...to find out if there are any troubles out there. I don't believe for one minute that Apple doesn't know what's going on in the //() world. Get your acts together guys. Some of us don't have time to be dealing with a company that plays tic tac toe with its users. As a user of many Apple products I would like an answer to the very simple question: Is the GS going to be improved or not? No nonsense about commenting on future products. There need be no specifics. Just a clear statement. And if the Apple people can't reply, then perhaps they can get permission from some person in authority. Just quit the games. Some of us have to plan our own computing directions, in the face of difficult funding. With a company that cares, such as Apple does no doubt, it is the least one can expect. Otherwise I can't see planning anything around ANY Apple computer(and that includes the Mac). These are MY views and not necessarily those of the 75,000 students/employees where I work and I reserve the right to express my views to them and the world.
