I posted a note yesterday in response to the problem of returning many values from a function. My point was that SETL has the desired capability, and that I have a version of SETL that I am distributing. In 24 hours I've received 7 requests for ISETL, so I think it would be easiest to post a general response. ISETL is available compiled or in source by anonymous ftp at clutx.clarkson.edu. 'cd' to pub/ISETL. The following executables are available: isetl.exe MSDOS 2.0 and higher compiled with Turbo-C 1.5 isetl.vax.unix obvious isetl.sun3 obvious isetl.mac obvious compiled with Lightspeed-C The source is in subdirectory SRC. TeX-able documentation is in DOC. Many examples and their corresponding outputs (*.t -> *.r) are in TESTS. This code may be distributed freely, so long as you do not make a profit on the distribution and you give credit to the author (Gary Levin at Clarkson University). There is the beginnings of a discussion group on Bitnet: ISETL-L@clvm.bitnet. Anyone interested is welcome to join. Send the message: ``subscribe ISETL-L <your-name-here>'' to LISTSERV@clvm.bitnet or to LISTSERV%clvm@clutx.clarkson.edu. There is a VMS executable available, but I am not much of a VMS jockey, so I may have trouble getting the bits to you. If it is important that you have a VMS version, write and I can try to use the NETDATA format over Bitnet. Please feel free to write to me: gary@clutx.clarkson.edu or gary@clutx.bitnet. If you take a copy by ftp, I'd appreciate an electronic note, just to keep track of how far flung the code has gone. Please make a similar request if you give it to someone off your campus. (I certainly don't need/want to know about every copy.) If you compile the source to a machine not listed above, please let me know so that I can make it available to others. Report problems by e-mail. ----- Gary Levin / Clarkson Univ / Potsdam, NY 13676 (315) 268-2384 gary@clutx.bitnet, gary@clutx.clarkson.edu
