I would like to purchase a copy of LNCS, volume 173, entitled "Semantics of Data Types" (Springer-Verlag). However, I have been told that the volume is out of print and no reprint date has been set. Does anyone have a copy they would be willing to sell me? Thanks. Dennis Volpano volpano@mcc.com

This book contains a paper I would like very much to read (Hook, "Understanding Russell"), and I was highly ausgepissed to find out that it's out of print. I echo Mr. Volpano's plea--or, if this paper was published elsewhere, a pointer would be greatly appreciated. James Jones

They have the largest selection of technical books of any store in the world (on the order of 14,000 titles, almost all computer science), and will also try to find any book you want if they don't have it in stock (they're real good at this). They also deliver anywhere. I have a friend who works there, and she checked for me that they do in fact have the book you're looking for in stock. So, call them at 408-435-1118 if you want to get a copy of it. That's the main number for their San Jose store (they also have stores in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara), which might not be where you need to talk to, but they will get you started. Happy hunting.
