[net.music] strange new trend in popular music

taylor@sdccsu3.UUCP (06/14/84)

I may be overly sensitive, but has anyone else noticed how the
modern music (read "new wave" <- what a poor term) that is being released
seems to have more and more in common with the disco music of the middle
70's? I can now listen to the local 'hip' station and hear dance tune
after dance tune...

Actually, it isn't a bad trend, just kind of interesting that
it is such a short cycle.

On a separate note, is there any news of Culture Club coming to
the US for a concert circuit? (If so, how about us culture starved (no
pun intended) San Diegans??)

In a whole separate issue...we should have a competition where
everyone guesses how much Michael Jackson is worth, and then we can all
call his Dad and ask. The one who comes closest wins an autographed
copy of Thriller or something! (Actually, that would be worth an amazing
amount of money!!!!!!)

My guess is $250 Million in convertable-to-cash assests.

		Having a pleasant July,
