Well, I guess there's not much of anything to complain about in this year's Oscar nominations; I either didn't see the film, or the nomination seems appropriate (or at least somewhat credible). However, not wanting to disappoint all those people who look forward to a really ridiculous nomination (Pia Zadora nominated for best anything (other than "prop") would have been a good example), I do note one which fits into this category.... Daniel Petrie Jr., for "Beverly Hills Cop" Whoooooooop! Haahaahaa! <insert Bronx Cheer here> cough cough cough... What few laughs I got out of this movie came from Eddie Murphy and his glib, slick stage performance. He took a very bad script by Mr. Petrie and turned it into something at least appealing enough to watch without fidgiting (too much). While liking or disliking this movie seems to be a matter for debate in net.movies, I would like to think that anybody who *did* enjoy this movie have Murphy to thank for it. Not Petrie. Who is probably a honkey anyway.... "Honey, this is GREAT coffee." Moriarty, aka Jeff Meyer John Fluke Mfg. Co., Inc.
