I'm a frustrated psuedo-programmer. I can "design" a program, but don't have the time and the resources to properly learn how to program, specially in 'C' . This is made doubly difficult, since I have been doing this on an Amiga with its mutli-tasking windowed system. I'm not totally inept, I have completed "small" programs for the Amiga and also for MS-DOS (TC & QC). I just acquired a 386/20 sy for business purposes. Now that the business computing world is rapidly acquiring my Amiga's features, I'd like to do some programming in Windows and OS2. At least the 20mhz should speed up my meager accomplishments in this area. Recently, I've been made aware of CASE tools. I picked up an issue of Dr. Dobbs, a special issue "Software Engineering Sourcebook", in which many CASE tools are discussed in a very general sense. In the resource guide, two programs caught my eye: 1)"Generator II" by N-TECH and 2)"MicroStep" by SYSCORP INTERNATIONAL. Both of these generate 'C' source code. Does anyone know about, or have opinions on these programs, or similiar programs? Keeping in mind price, Generator II is $249. These types of programs seem to me to be just what I'm looking for, what do you think? Thanx! - MJB -
