I apologise. I post one sarcastic comment about language wars and someone
takes me up on it. I should have directed followups elsewhere but it never
occurred to me that this would happen...

Language wars are a more honorable pursuit than forgeries or personality
flames, but they don't belong in news.groups. Even if you *are* posting
from ETHZ.
