[comp.lang.misc] Course on Programming Language Concepts

sanjiv@hoss.unl.edu (Sanjiv K. Bhatia) (09/27/90)

I am looking for a short description of the material to be covered in an
undergraduate course in Programming Languages. The course is to be offered at
the junior level and the students are expected to be familiar with at least two
imperative programming languages (like Pascal and C) in addition to data
structures, basic algorithms, and discrete math. The course is expected to
strike a balance between theoretical issues and programming. A different
programming paradigm like logic programming or functional programming is
expected to be introduced to the students.

I'll greatly appreciate receiving course descriptions of similar courses from
other schools and inputs about what is considered to be important from the
viewpoint of different persons teaching this or similar courses.

Thanks in advance.

Sanjiv
