I'm investigating the possibility of using IDL to assist in a project which involves the manipulation of abstract syntax trees. The idea is to translate the target language, C for example, into an abstract syntax tree (represented in IDL) and use the facilities of IDL to help in manipulating the result. So my question is: is there anything out there which can translate C or some other language into some kind of syntax tree in IDL? If this is a stupid question, please feel free to email the reason, as it would help me in my overall evaluation of what I'm trying to do. Thanks, David Rosenbaum daver@cc.gatech.edu
