Peter, We can't find anyone in the group who's willing to admit they're old enough to know for sure :-), but we've got a guess it was a 360 Model 40. We suggest that someone (maybe we will) try running them on a modern mainframe (a 9000 series machine would be nice) for comparison. Personally, I'm not surprised at your results. For years I've been hearing amazing comparisons between desktop computers and the old 360s. Regards, David Liebtag
