			Typesetting APL with TeX
			and other APL Software
			at Waterloo

Certain TeX style (".sty") files that will enable you to use TeX to
typeset APL material are available on the file server

	watserv1.waterloo.edu [ 129.97.129.140 ]

at the University of Waterloo. Users of anonymous ftp will find them
in the directory

	languages/apl/fonts/TeX/

These text files are in the sub-directory

	docs

The article ``A LaTeX Document Style Option for Typesetting APL'',
by Andreas Geyer-Schulz, Josef Matulka, and Gustaf Neumann
about this materal appeared in TUGboat, V11(4), November 1990,
pp. 644 - 651, and the LaTeX source for this paper is in the same
directory. This paper uses the style files and may be considered
a example of how things may be done.

There is an APL2 workspace suitable for running on an IBM system
with CMS, and we hope in the not too distant future, to have others,
suitable for use on other platforms.

I recently submitted a number of files to ACM SIGAPL, for inclusion in
their software distribution library, including the following:

a. Two Postscript APL fonts. One from Joey Tuttle, formerly of IPSA.
The second from Martin Gfeller, probably still with Reuters. I prefer
the appearance of the MGF font.

b. TeX tfm files for the above.

c. Various Tex and LaTeX macros for articles in LaTex, etc.

These should be available through SIGAPL. Perhaps Lee Dickey has his
paws on them already.
