[comp.lang.apl] Intro to J

ballanty@fornax.UUCP (Rob Ballantyne) (05/08/91)

I hope someone can help me.

I'm looking for some introductory material -- i.e. How to program in J.

I'd really appreciate it if someone who knows a whole lot more than I
do could point me in the correct direction. If you know a couple of
good reference for J would you please pass them (the "references",
not "the references") on to me.

  Thanks in advance,

Rob

- The J "package" comes with a tutorial (a set of 47 lessions).

- Available from Iverson Software: "Tangible Math and the ISI
Dictionary of J" and "Programming in J". The latter is probably
  most suited for your purpose.

- Iverson, "J", Vector, 1990 7.
Hui, Iverson, McDonnell, and Whitney, "APL\?", APL90 Conference Proc.

- McIntyre, "Mastering J", APL91 Conference Proc. (to appear).
