I was at my favorite record store yesterday, and, lo and behold, right there among all of the strange collectors items were four Residents albums with very high price tags. The less interesting items were test pressings of "Mark of the Mole" and "Third Reich and Roll" ($25 each). There was also a red marble vinyl copy of "Third Reich and Roll" for $120. What really caught my eye was a copy of "Meet the Residents" with the "Meet the Beatles" cover. It was dated 1974 and said that it was one of the 1000 copy limited edition pressings. The price was $120 (negotiable). Now, I was under the impression that this cover never existed. Is this really an original pressing of "Meet the Residents"? How can I tell? I'd kind of like to have this item for my collection, but I don't want to end up with a bootleg of an album I already have just for the cover. David

Since Ralph Records recently tried "auctioning off" several rare Residents memorabilia and recording, it is indeed possible that these are the real McCoys. Check with Ralph to be sure. -- WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Rich Rosen WHAT IS YOUR NET ADDRESS? pyuxn!rlr WHAT IS THE CAPITAL OF ASSYRIA? I don't know that ... ARGHHHHHHHH!

The special copy of the third Reich and Roll has several neat things that identify it. First there were only 25 available. Second it comes first in a wooden box, and then in a bag made out of the parachute material from that stupid fence they called art in Califoria. Also, the carrot is not colored in on the label. $120 is an excellent deal on what I describe. -Ron
