Some of the old guys around here started it when they were "stranded" with these "dumb little machines." Now most of them no longer consider them "dumb little machines," but they are scared to death to learn a new language. Us "young'uns" are dragging them kicking and screaming into C, but it isn't easy. We even use your employer's Fortran compiler! I'm impressed, MS F77 4.0 is really good; a vast improvement over 3.3, which I used in college. We use them for high-speed data acquisition and analysis of the collected data, amongst other things. -- /\ - "Against Stupidity, - {backbones}! /\/\ . /\ - The Gods Themselves - utah-cs!uplherc! / \/ \/\/ \ - Contend in Vain." - sp7040!obie! / U i n T e c h \ - Schiller - wes

We do too. We do some fancy screen acrobatics on targa's and artist 1+ boards coupled with some custom timer boards and an equally (same person) custom subroutine library we get a dozen characters to move around the screen at once (new position for each one each refresh 60HZ:-) Ephram Cohen ephram@violet.berkeley.edu
