[comp.lang.fortran] Harwell subroutines sought

shenkin@cubsun.BIO.COLUMBIA.EDU (Peter Shenkin) (10/18/88)

Thanks to the several of you out there who responded to my query on availability
of the Harwell Scientific Subroutine Package.

You all informed me that some, at least, of these routines are available
from netlib, as in:

	netlib@research.att.com This worked for me.
netlib@anl-ams.arpa I got no response from this.

However, it turns out that the only Harwell routines that this source
has are the MA28 family, which solves sparse systems of linear equations.
I am interested in the optimization routines.

If anyone else has any idea where I could pick these up, I'd appreciate
the information. Or, does anyone have an email path to Harwell?

Incidentally, the netlib holdings look interesting, and if anyone out there
is not aware of this service, I suggest you send the message

	send help
	send index

to one of the above addresses, to get a list of what they have, and directions
for getting it sent to you. (They even have code to generate Voronoi
polyhedra..., though in how many dimensions I do not know!)

Thanks again,
	-P.
