I would think not...of course, some people would argue that you *can* be (Grateful) Dead and still be on the cutting edge :-) "I'll always see that hole in my dreams" -Sue

Well, I am generally not one to respond to "cutting edge" and "best group/guitarist/bodily attributes" postings, but I don't recall seeing the only band whose work I feel to be truly "on the cutting edge" mentioned: I am of course referring to THE RESIDENTS. I highly recommend their music and especially their videos to anyone who feels s/he has seen all there is to see in modern musical creativity. The Residents' music is difficult to describe, but I doubt that I will find many individuals who will disagree with me when I say that they are truly unique; I'll even go so far as to say they DEFINE the cutting edge of modern music. If you haven't heard them yet (I know that quite a few net-people have), do yourself a favour and check out one or two of their albums -- especially recommended is the four-part MOLE TRILOGY (no, I am not kidding...it's probably the only four part trilogy in existence). I personally like "Duck Stab" the best --I got it in a cutout bin for $2.99. -- --Rob Rosen ...ucbvax!rosen rosen@ucbvax.berkeley.edu
