[My apologies if this has been discussed here recently or if readers find this a bit obscure; I rarely read this news group.] I am unable to link a SUN F77 program which contains a call to the "system" library routine (this takes a string and calls the program as if you had sent a command line to a shell). I was also not able to use a C routine to make the call for the F77 program. In both cases I get a message about "_units" being undefined. The C routine is fine by itself, as is the F77 program with a dummy C routine. I have tried all sorts of library combinations, RTFM, etc. to no avail. Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong or how to get around the problem? Suggestions on how I might find an answer would also be very welcome. Please email replies to mcnabb@ncsa.uiuc.edu -- Thanks! The C routine You don't mention your version ... my recollection is that this is a f77v1.1 bug, which had a patch ... which is contained in f77v1.2 (which is the standard shipped and supported product now).
