[net.movies] Review of THE LAST DRAGON, and coming attractions

moriarty@fluke.UUCP (Jeff Meyer) (04/30/85)

Brief review: I guess the question of The Last Dragon is, are you into
Kung Fu enough to ignore the silliness and enjoy the all-to-few weird
touches. The answer for me is, no way. The villain is way too campy
(though Sho Nuff is pretty funny at points), and the plot is just a
Rocky-predictable clone; there isn't one surprise in it. Too much poor
music, cute kids, dumb sidekicks and helpless, brainless heroines (good
looking, tho') for my tastes. I think Gene and Roger gave this a
"Thumbs Up" on At The Movies; I think those boys are getting a mite
too lax these days.

Also: after the previews to "Rambo" I suspect they're going to ship
Sly Stallone off to Chuck Norris territory, to "bring the boys back
home", etc., ad nauseum...

"This Land is made of Mountains,
This Land is made of Mud,
This Land has lots of Everything,
                                 For me and Elmer Fudd..."
