[comp.lang.fortran] 32bit fortran compilers under DOS extender?

ndeng@EULER.BERKELEY.EDU (10/30/89)

Can someone recommend a GOOD 32-bit FORTRAN compiler working under DOS
extender? I heard there are some, like NDP, SVS, Lahey. All are claimed
very good. But I would like to hear the opinions about one or more of the
compilers from the people who have worked with them. How about their
compiling times/run times for standard benchmarks? (Like LINPACK,
Livermore Loops, etc.) How do they handle i/o? (How many files can be opened?
Do they have graphics support?) Does any support virtual memory? Can any one
run under DESQView or MS Windows? (I mean to run the compiled executables,
not the compiler). Any special problems/advantages/drawbacks?

Please reply by e-mail. If enough interest is generated, I shall post a
summary.
