[comp.lang.fortran] DOS f77 Comiplers

chris2@garfield.MUN.EDU (Chris Paulse) (12/02/89)

This hasn't come up in a while, but the last time DOS f77
compilers were reviewed here, everyone seemed intent on discouraging
anyone from using MS Fortran. Version 5.0 has come out since then,
and even that is receiving copious comments about compiler bugs
from posters. Other suggestions (in order of preference) were

                       NDP
                       Lahey
                       Prospero
                       Salford
                  and RM

Can anyone add to this discussion, as I'm about to puchase one.

Important points:
o I want to be using a DOS extender

o I want to link the objects with MS cc

o I want fast floating point for matrix
                      diagonalization

Thanks in advance
