Ok, now I have MS Fortran 5.?? with graphics and all and it seems to work ok (with a few oddities - as is typical of most systems). Now I need a simple answer (I hope the answer will not be as simple as "no"), Is it possible to have MS Fortran detect a single (non <cr>) keypress, and return a single character? Ideally I would like a couple functions, say kbdhit() and getsinglechar(). I browsed the libraries (using link/map) and found something called apilib and something called doscalls. Both have symbols with about the right names (kbdpeek and so on) but attempts to use them (documentation? no such thing) have led only to hanging the machine.
