> So, does anyone have a dandy Fortran to C translator?? I have promotional material for a program called FOR_C++, from a firm called Cobalt Blue, that translates fortran to either C or C++; they claim heavy percentages of translation into maintainable C code. They also have a FOR_STRUCT product which can be ran before FOR_C++ to eliminate some goto's in favor of while and other block structures (it can also stand alone). I have no experience with Cobalt Blue's stuff, I'm just wondering whether to try and buy them. I don't have their material with me here, and don't recall whether it runs on DECstations, but can look it up for you if you wish. NOT a cheap product, though! > Or know of a RISC Fortran compiler?? DEC sells the Mips Fortran compiler, or I guess you might be able to buy it directly from MIPS Inc.; it looks like a nice compiler, with its bugs and quirks (which compiler doesn't have them!), but particularly strong in the area of optimization. NOT cheap either, but if you want to keep programming in Fortran rather than just do a one-time port of some existing code, I think you would be very well advised to buy it!
