[comp.lang.fortran] dbx, fortran, and vectors

Just a sidenote:
Not that this will help you much, but AIX (RT, PS/2, and Version 3) dbx has
the capability to print specified portions of arrays (we call them
'subarrays').  You would specify things like "print a(1..2,9..12,5)" or
whatever (it was also modified to accept parens as well as brackets).
The base dbx from Berkeley doesn't have that feature, and it doesn't really
fit in well with the usual internals of dbx, which is probably why it isn't
one of the standard value-adds to dbx.

One question, how well do the FORTRAN debuggers out there handle variable-
length arrays (real a(n)) and variable-length character variables (char*(*))?
