On a similar topic, I just upgraded to a 386 computer and discovered
that not only would code compiled with my Microsoft FORTRAN compiler,
version 3.10 not run (it actually locks up the system), the compiler
itself also locks it up. I called MS and they say, yep, it's full of
bugs when used on 80x86 systems; only solution is to upgrade.

So, I am suddenly in the market for a DOS FORTRAN compiler. MS ver 5.0
is $250 for an upgrade. What about others? Should I consider a 386
specific compiler? Which ones? Pointers to reviews would be
appreciated.

Sorry if this has been beat to death here; reply and I'll summarize if
there is interest.

Thanks,
