[comp.lang.fortran] Numerical software forsale: NAG Workstation Library

barkdoll@cattell.psych.upenn.edu (Edwin Barkdoll) (09/15/90)

Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) Workstation Library for IBM PC/XT/AT
or compatible for sale.

The NAG Workstation Library contains 171 documented routines
covering 18 major areas including ordinary differential equations,
curve and surface fitting, optimisation, linear algebra, time series
and statistics. The NAG Workstation Library is a subset of the
complete NAG Fortran Library.

NAG was formed in 1970 and the routines in the library are
'tried and true'.

The library comes with extnesive manuals that briefly cover
the theoretical aspects of the particular algorithm as well as how to
implement the algorithm. Also included are example programs (source
code) that demonstrate use of each subroutine.

LIBRARY FORMAT:
The library is in object code compiled with the Microsoft
Fortran 4.01 compiler. NAG will upgrade the libraries from MS Fortran
4.01 to 4.1 which will link with MS Fortran 5.0 object modules for $75. To
date NAG does not provide a library compiled with MS Fortran 5.0.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS:
Needs minimum 500 KB memory, 5.25" high density floppy drive,
2.2MB of hard disk space. A math coprocessor will be used if present
which will speed floating point operations but it is not required.

PRICE:
I purchased the NAG library about a year ago for the academic
price of $495 (U.S). Non academic price is $795. I will sell the NAG
library for the be$t offer over $400 (U.S.).
