[comp.lang.fortran] MS Installation Problem.

marx@VMS.HUJI.AC.IL (Michael M. Marx) (12/01/90)

I purchased recently the MS Fortran compiler. Tried to install it
on my 386 (25 MHZ ms-dos 3.3) machine. The thing bombed:
While trying it out with its sample programs (sieve etc.)
the Link editor responded "Invalid object module".
I have tried it many times, both for some other (well tried)
programs and on other machines (XT clone, AT clone) - nothing doing.

Fortunately - one of the computers available to me did respond favourably -
this is an original IBM PS/2 55-SX in the office. (Some people still buy
IBM...).
As I need the compiler for academic work, not in the office -
I heeded the advice given in the Referenc Manual for such
a problem: " Ask Microsoft". The question was sent to them
by the local MS agent - to no awail. I am waiting for an answer for over three
 months.
If anyone can help me - I will be most grateful.
