[comp.lang.fortran] MS FORTRAN: Can it write to a port?

Is there a similar statement in FORTRAN as in BASIC
out &H300, number 
? This statement write to a device with address HEX 300.
Can MS fortran do this? The device I am referring is a
Digital to Analog converter, upon receiving a number, it 
gives a voltage for example.

Please email. I need your input to decide if I use FORTRAN or
BASIC to write the interfacing program.
