[comp.lang.fortran] History, and a quote.

wvenable@spam.ua.oz (Bill Venables) (04/18/91)

For my sins I may have to teach a Fortran course in the near future,
something I haven't had to do for 20 years.

A little while ago there was a potted history of the Fortran language
pieced together on this newsgroup. If anyone kept a copy I would be
grateful if they could send it to me.

Also, perhaps this is not the best place to ask, but it may be the most
effective. Who said this:

"Teaching programming with Fortran is like teaching arithmetic with
	 Roman notation."

Thanks in advance,	Bill V.
