I realize that this has to be a FAQ in this newsgroup but I was wondering from where (or who) I could request a copy of the ANSI f77 standard (ANSI X3.9-1978) and the DOD supplement MIL-STD-1753 ? Does somebody have an appropriate address or phone # they could post or e-mail to me? A little knowledge of exactly what the standard says might go a long way! tnx -joel -- ------- Joel Rhodes rhodesii@othello.studsvik.com Studsvik of America uunet!idaho!othello!rhodesii 591 Park Ave. Suite 302 ph. 208-522-8443

MIL-STD-1753 is available free of charge (at least for individual copies) from the Naval Publications and Forms Center. The have an dialup electronic order entry system called TOES which is quite easy to use. First you need to get yourself setup with a customer number, by calling the customer service line (215 697 2667) and talking to a human who will get you eneterd into the computer and give you your number. They can also explain how to use TOES. Basically, you call it (215 697 1187 through -97) and use a touchtone phone to enter "MILSTD1753". After a week or two, your order arrives in the mail. MIL-STD-1753 is about 8 pages long, BTW. -- David Bernholdt bernhold@qtp.ufl.edu Quantum Theory Project bernhold@ufpine.bitnet University of Florida Gainesville, FL 32611 904/392 6365
