I am about to begin writing a FORTRAN tutor share-ware program for IBM-DOS machines. It will be like more-or-less hypertext style on a Mac. I consider to include three main subjects; FORTRAN grammar as intro ductory, some numerical analysis techniques, mixing with other languages. The reasons why I intend to write a tutor program 1) It may be of my opnion that there are very few good decent books for the sophore level. 2) Although FORTRAN itself is a standard scientific language, there seems no tutor program available. I plan to add some routines from BLAS, MINPACK, LINPACK and so on. Is it illegal to add these routine in my programs? I understand that I can't do with IMSL, NAG routines. Are these routines really like public domain program ? I am also soliciting ideas for my hypertext FORTRAN programs. Although I have some knowledge of FORTRAN, I never taught at the University class. I wish to have some feedbacks from those who taught at the class. Your help, comments and suggestion in this regards is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Sung T.
