No offense intended to those of you who've been raving about "The Gods Must
Be Crazy," but I recently saw the movie and I thought it stank. Between the
ads and what people had been saying in this newsgroup, I went into the movie
expecting a charming and sensitive look into another culture -- an
ethnological comedy of manners, perhaps. What I found instead was not only
slapstick, but the lowest form of slapstick: awkward, crudely timed and with
an annoying dependence on silly tricks using sped-up or reversed footage.
Walt Disney did better at his absolute worst.
This was the most disappointing movie I've been to in recent memory and I
wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I enjoyed the movie The Gods Must be Crazy from a special viewpoint as a long time Land Rover owner. My wife says that it was even funnier from her point of view! Jim Potter jp@lanl.arpa
