A new Prolog users group
The Prolog Forum

A users group for those interested in Prolog is being formed in
the San Francisco Bay Area. The Prolog Forum has been created to serve
the needs of Prolog users in both the greater Bay area and the world. We
are open to all users of Prolog no matter what their skill level or
background.

This group was formed to achieve the following objectives:

        * Provide an environment for Prolog users to interact and learn
          from each other.

        * Provide a forum for the Prolog industry to present their wares
and get feedback from the user community.

        * Encourage the use of Prolog where it is appropriate. Educate the
artificial intelligence and software development communities
about Prolog and its strong and week points.

        * Support the further development of the Prolog language in
such areas as encouraging efforts toward a Prolog standard.

        * Provide a medium for the Prolog user's community to make their
feelings known about issues that affect them.

We are planning to hold meetings every second thursday of the month with
such endeavors as Xenologic and Quintus to permit our local members to
familiarize themselves with some of their Prolog related products. For
our international members, we are completing work on the first issue
of our newsletter which will address the needs of Prolog users at all skill
levels. We are actively recruiting new members, and welcome the input of
anyone interested in the Prolog programming language or logic programming.
