Regarding the mysterious reason that radio stations speed up records: You know, I went to a disco roller rink once and I saw/heard the DJ do that very thing. And you know why he did it? Because that way, the second record could seque right into the first one WITHOUT CHANGING THE BEAT. 20 straight minutes of presto 4/4. I'd bet money that that is why some radio stations speed up records, too...... 70 minutes of music every hour! [ihnp4 decvax]!stolaf!neiman ===> Carleton College by dialup. Disco DJ's do that a little, but I think we are talking about a consistent speed up of all the records. Disco DJ's will fiddle with the speed to match beats, but that only typically happens at the mix. -Ron
