[net.movies] Brewster's Millions

leeper@mtgzz.UUCP (m.r.leeper) (06/20/85)

I tried to respond to this mail directly, but the address was not
recognized. To wmartin:

 >It was me that both posted the first comment about hearing
 >or reading (now I forget which) that Brewster's Millions was
 >first filmed in 1914 with Fatty Arbuckle, and, in that same
 >posting, remarked that I thought that might be too early.
 >Thanks for the correct info. Probably the source (whatever
 >it was) that I had gotten that info from had the two facts,
 >that it was first filmed in 1914, and that it was once made
 >with Arbuckle, and combined them wrongly.

Variety, when they reviewed the latest version, gave the credits for it
and each of the previous versions.

 >
 >How about a Brewster's Millions film festival? All the
 >versions... (Sequentially at first, and then pass out the
 >electric Kool-Aid and show them all simultaneously...)

Uh....... no thanks.

 >Like your (and your spouse's) reviews!

I assume you have heard from your newspaper about the desperate
international shortage of kind comments. While the world's population
doubles every 33 years, the number of kind comments annually has
decreased since 1941 (with the exception of a very modest rise from 1961
to 1962 -- perhaps attributable to attitudes fostered by the Kennedy
administration). In any case, your comments are not just appreciated,
they are very much needed in these trying times.
