[comp.lang.prolog] Variable Usage Patterns in Prolog Programs

Has anyone collected statistics on Prolog programs regarding 
the proportion between trailed-variables (conditional variables) 
residing in global stack and those residing in local stack of the
WAM. That is, I want to know the general proportion between 
conditional-global and conditional-local variables for "average"
Prolog programs. Does anyone know of any paper(s) where such statistics 
may be found.
