		     Research Fellowships

Applications are invited for two Research Fellows to work on the
Machine Intelligence Project in the Department of Computer Science,
University of Melbourne. This internationally recognized project is
performing research into logic programming, databases, knowledge-based
systems, parallel computing, and programming environments. Project
facilities include a network of Sun workstations, a 16-processor
Encore and access to other departmental computers and networks.
The project is supported by the Australian Research Council.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent qualifications and
research experience in appropriate areas. The appointees will be
expected to perform independent and joint research in any one or
more of the project research areas.

These positions are for three years initially with a possible three-year
extension. Commencement should be between July and November 1989.
Salary range is $A31,259 to $A40,622 per annum depending on qualifications
and experience.
