arun@Bach.CES.CWRU.Edu (Arun Lakhotia) (07/31/89)

			CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

Logic Programming Environments: The Next Generation
	       NACLP-89 Workshop; Cleveland, Ohio, USA
		       Friday, October 20, 1989

This one day workshop will focus on current and future trends in
building logic programming environments. The discussions will
cover all issues directly relevant to the construction of logic
   programming environments such as:

o Integrated programming environments for Prolog and/or other
          logic languages
o Syntax directed editors for logic languages and
high-level editing support using program transformation
o Graphical/animated debugging by visualizing program execution
o Static analysis tools for program diagnostics
o Interface with external systems such as languages and windowing
          systems
     o Performance mesurement tools

The attendance will be limited to 20 active researchers. The
meeting would be evenly divided between presentations and discussions.

Those interested in making a presentation should submit an extended
abstract of 3-5 pages on experiences with developing such tools,
position statements of on-going work, or simply ideas for new
tools. The emphasis should be on justifying their need, their
impact on a programmer's productivity, the design of their human
interface and behavior, and integration with existing environments.

Those interested in attending only should submit a one page
description of their research interests and current work.

   IMPORTANT DATES:

August 30: Submit paper or description of research interests.
(Include name, mailing address, and e-mail address)
   September 15: Notification of acceptance
September 30: Submit hardcopy of paper to be distributed as
                  proceedings
   October 20: Workshop

Electronic submissions are encouraged and may be sent to
   arun@bach.ces.cwru.edu (or arun%bach.ces.cwru.edu@uunet.uu.net from
outside USA). They may be made in one of plain text, TeX, LaTeX,
   DVI, or PostScript format only.

Hardcopy submissions may be sent to Dave Bowen or Raf Venken
