Transport from the airport to NACLP'89 accommodation

Here are some suggestions for NACLP'89 attendees on getting to
your accommodation from Cleveland Hopkins airport. Most convenient is
using a limousine service. Go to the Hopkins Airport Limo service
office, located at exit 6 on the baggage claim level. The cost for
four people or more is $5 to the Holiday Inn, $6.50 to the Clinic
Center Hotel, and $7 to the Al Cazar. Cost for three people or less is
$20. During daytime hours, the limo will wait for at least four
people.

The cheapest way to arrive is by using public transport. The
rapid transit is very convenient, leaving right from the airport and
going straight to University Circle. The trip takes about 35 minutes.
The cost is $1 - exact change is required. Ask for a transfer if you
intend using a bus to take you from the University Circle rapid
station.

During registration hours on Sunday and Monday, a minivan will be
available for running Conference chores. It is likely that you can be
picked up from the rapid station and taken to the AlCazar, student
dorms or Clinic Center Hotel. Note that there will also be
registration at the Clinic Center Hotel on Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m.
Call 368-6197 from the airport to confirm that you will be picked up.

Otherwise you will need to take a bus from the rapid station.
(Unless you really like shlepping suitcases for at least a 10 min.
walk and maybe more). Get off the train at University Circle. Note
the bus ride in any case will be short (less than 5 minutes).

1. If you are going to the Al Cazar, head towards the ticket booth.
Go down the stairs to the RTA bus station. For the AlCazar, catch a
32 (any extension) and get off at Cedar-Fairmount junction, or a 7
(any extension) and get off at Euclid Heights Blvd-Derbyshire
junction. Both buses go up the hill. The bus schedules are posted at
the bus station.

2. For the Clinic Center Hotel, follow the directions for the Al
Cazar to get to the RTA bus station. Catch a 6 heading downtown up
Euclid Ave and get off at E.96th St. Cross Euclid and walk one short
block to the Clinic Center Hotel, which is on the corner of Carnegie
and 96th St.

3. If you are going to the student dorms on campus, follow the signs
for CWRU from the train station. When you emerge from
the tunnels, find the bus stop for the University Circle Bus
('Greenie Bus') to take you to Clark Tower, located at the North Side
of the campus. The RTA station is located at the South Campus. During
the day buses leave every half-hour. At night, you call the
number for Greenie Buses. It is 368-4444 from a public telephone. If you
are calling from the phones located at the campus, only dial 4444.

ARRIVAL AT NIGHT : If you are coming in late at night, and there is no
suitable limousine, it is advisable to take a taxi rather than public
transport. Many people would not wander around the University Circle
RTA Station at night.
