I am amazed that 10 people have voted for Pierce Brosnin. This man is too wimpy looking to play 007. Not only does he have too slender a body and too baby a face, I can't imagine him getting himself out of any situation that required brawn or brains. In Remington Steele, Laura ends up getting them out of most of their tight situations with bad guys. What's the appeal with Brosnin? I'm very interested because he doesn't appeal to me in the least. My vote goes for (ta da) John Cleese, and seriously too, to my mind, my favourite bond of all time was David Niven, in a slightly looney production that reflected how larger than life Bond has become... Niven played Bond very sympathetically and I think that Cleese with strong direction would bring a wonderful sense of comedic timing to a role that cannot be played straight anymore, if we want farce, than hire the right man.. -- Mike Upmalis (mupmalis@watarts)<University of Waterloo> ihnp4!watmath!watarts!mupmalis

You convinced me, Mike---John Cleese for 007! "...yes, roTATing knives!" "THIS is an EX-Parrot!" "...sorry, time's up. Can't argue anymore!" "So can we have it then? Your liver?" "Number thirty-four: Naughty Bits" --
