**************** C A L L F O R P A P E R S ************************ - DOOD'91 - 2nd International Conference on Deductive and Object-Oriented Databases December 16-18, 1991, Munich, Germany sponsored by: ECRC - Bull, ICL, Siemens; ASTEM RI/Kyoto supported by: Commission of the European Communities (requested),ICOT, INRIA, MCC in cooperation with (requested): ACM, AFCET, BCS, GI, IEEE, IPS-Japan(approved). Aim and Topics: =============== Deductive databases and Object-Oriented databases are at the forefront of research in the next-generation intelligent database systems. Recently, research has been aimed at integrating the object-oriented paradigm and rule-based deduction to provide a single powerful framework for intelligent database systems. The primary objective of DOOD'91 is to provide a common forum of technical discussions between researchers/developers of deductive databases and object-oriented databases, thereby accelerating the integration of the technical outputs of these two areas. This continues the direction established by the very successful DOOD'89 conference held in December 1989 in Kyoto, Japan, which attracted more than 350 participants. The conference will address new developments in theoretical and practical aspects of deductive databases (DD), object-oriented databases (OOD), and the integration of these two disciplines. Papers are solicited which describe original and novel research within this framework. The following is a partial list of topics of interest: * Integrating Logic and Object Paradigm * Operational DOOD Systems * Concurrent Logic/Object Programming * Integrity Enforcement in DOOD * Integration of DOOD with Programming Languages * Formalization of the Object-Oriented Concepts * Artificial Intelligence Techniques in DOOD * Performance of DOOD Systems * Query Languages and Query Optimization * Applications of DOOD Systems * Advanced User Interface to DOOD Systems * Consistency Checking in DOOD. Instructions: ============= Authors should submit six (6) copies of a full paper to one of the Program Committee Chairpersons by March 15th, 1991. Papers should be no longer than 20 typewritten (double spaced) pages in English. Name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s) with electronic-mail address and/or Fax number should appear on the cover sheet.
