Call for Proposals for ALP Conference Organization

The Association for Logic Programming (ALP) supports two conferences
a year: the International Conference on Logic Programming (ICLP) and
the International Logic Programming Symposium (ILPS), (formerly named
the North American Conference on Logic Programming (NACLP)). The
ICLP is normally held in June and the ILPS in October in North
America. ICLP'90 was in Jerusalem; NACLP'90 was in Austin, Texas.
Next year's ICLP'91 will be in Paris; and ILPS'91 (formerly NACLP'91)
will be in San Diego. In 1992, there will be a joint meeting of ICLP
and ILPS in the Washington, D.C. area.

We are seeking preliminary proposals for organizing either of these
meetings for 1993 or 1994. A proposal consists of volunteering to
be General Chairman of the meeting and to be responsible for
the budget and local arrangements in a proposed city. A proposal
should include some discussion of any special features of the
proposal that would bear on its selection.

The procedure is that the Executive Committee of the ALP (EC) will
then select one from the proposals submitted. At an appropriate
later time, the EC will independently select a Program Chairman for
the meeting to be responsible for the technical program.

We already have some proposals for organizing the 1993 meetings, but
we will entertain others.

I am the conference coordinator for the ALP, so please send me
(email: warren@cs.sunysb.edu) proposals, suggestions, or comments.

Many thanks.
