Announcement: the deadline for tutorial and paper submission reception has been postponed to a hard deadline of April 15th, 1991 The conference chair The program chair Pedro Barahona Luis Moniz Pereira and Antonio Porto ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Call for Papers EPIA - 91 Fifth Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence Hotel Montechoro, Albufeira, Algarve October 1-3, 1991 The Fifth Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence will be held in Hotel Montechoro, Albufeira, Algarve, in October 1-3, 1991. The Conference is sponsored by the Portuguese Association for Artifi- cial Intelligence (APPIA) and by local companies. Topics ------ The Conference is devoted to all areas of Artificial Intelligence and will cover both theory and foundations as well as applications. Papers describing completed or on-going research are requested in the fol- lowing topic areas: - Knowledge Representation - Automatic Deduction - Natural Language Understanding - Learning - Architectures and Languages - Planning - Knowledge Engineering - Non-standard Logics - Logic Programming - Cognitive Modelling Paper Submission ---------------- Authors should submit four copies of their papers in hard copy to the conference chair. Papers should be no longer than 15 pages, printed in European A4 format (29.6 x 21 cm), and should be of letter quality print. Each paper should contain the following information: - Title of paper - Names and affiliation of authors - Abstract Accepted papers will be scheduled for presentation and will be printed in the proceedings. An award will be given to the most outstanding paper, which will be presented in a special session, and an acknowle- dgement will be printed in the proceedings. As with the Fourth Portuguese Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Springer-Verlag has agreed to publish this Conference proceedings in its Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence series.
