[comp.lang.prolog] Looking for an elusive Prolog textbook

jfl@mullauna.cs.mu.OZ.AU (John Lenarcic) (06/26/91)

I read a review somewhere that stated that the following
was an excellent Prolog text book that offered a very
practical view of the subject:

      PROLOG: Programming Techniques and Applications

by Susan Garavaglia ( Harper and Row, 1987 )

I tried to track it down through the local Australian representative
for Harper and Row but they steered me to John Wiley and Sons, claiming
that their rights to it had been transfered. I checked "Books in Print"
and, sure enough, it said that Wiley had in fact picked up the rights.
However, when I contacted the Wiley rep I was informed that the book
was out-of-print ( even though it was listed in the 1991 Books in Print ).

Cutting to the chase, does anyone know where I could purchase a copy
of the above text ? I haven't found a bookstore in Melbourne that
has it in stock and the publishers are no help.

I know that the author, Ms. Susan Garavaglia, is associated with the
Chase Manhatten Bank and teaches at New York University. An address
for both these institutions would be most appreciated so that I can
contact her personally.
