In regard to the query about the AdaVantage compiler from Meridian systems for the IBM PC, I saw a demo of the compiler last week at the SIGAda meeting in Hollywood Florida. It seems to work quite well and was reasonably fast on a PC/AT. The two principals developing the compiler are Eric Olsen and Stephen B. Whitehill, who among other past accomplishments such as developing C and Pascal compilers for Zilog 8000 systems wrote an Ada text called Ada for Programmers, Reston Publishing, 1983. Of course its not validated, but it appears to be a complete implementation. Meridian says that those who purchase the compiler now can get the validated version (whenever that happens) for an additional $50. I don't now much more than that. But at this price, it looks good enough to purchase for evaluation. Mike Hogan Aerospace Corp, Los Angeles
