Hi, I am involved in a project which deals with the simulation of MAP Local Area Networks. We are using Ada, and the tasking mechanism for our simulation. One of the problems with our simulation is that we have to run the simulator for several hours in order to get "seconds of real time data." Presently, we are using a time-driven scheduler, which basically allows all network entities to run, and updates time. This process is repeated again, and again. I am now working on re-writing the scheduler as an "event-driven" scheduler, or perhaps as some combination of a time-driven, and an event-driven scheduler. I was wondering if anyone out on the net has had any experience with similar problems. If so, I'd greatly appreciate receiving any pointers to literature, any references to existing projects elsewhere, or any relevant comments. If there is sufficient interest, I will summarize replies to the net. Thanks in advance for your time, and help.
