In April '84 I brought the book by L. Ron Hubbard, and liked it, all 1000 pages of it (paperback). Though on the cover it said "soon to be a major motion picture." I haven't heard anything about it. Is it still "pending" or has the idea been scraped. I know a 2 to 2 1/2 hour movie wouldn't do the book justice but I'd go see it anyway. Battlefield Earth was brought out and pushed by the Church of Scientology who, for leagal reasons, had to prove that L. Ron Hubbard is still alive. Somebody told me that Battlefield Earth actually came out a long time ago and that it was one of L. Ron's first books. At any rate, the Scientologists would do anything to promote the book and announcing a film is a good way to do that. I'd take it with a grain of salt. -- Charles Forsythe CSDF@MIT-VAX "I always try to avoid cliche's like the plague!" -Rev. Wang Zeep
