*** REPLACE THIS LINE WITH YOUR MESSAGE *** HEY!!!!! _I_ didn't write the line about St. Elmo's Fire actors "not earning their stardom"!!!! I was _quoting_ a review. (This is in response to today's followup posting by Connolly(???), in which it appears that I was criticizing St. Elmo's.) Once again, I think the "Brat Pack" (as Lowe, Moore, Nelson, Sheedy, McCarthy, Winningham, Estevez et al are known) has a _lot_ of talent, and a lot we haven't seen yet.... Also, to bring in a topic of several months ago, birth control in the movies, St. Elmo's has something relevant. Very early in the movie, Nelson and Sheedy are getting intimate, when she sort of pushes him away and goes to get her diaphragm. He says something along the lines of "If we were married, you wouldn't have to worry about that thing," which shows that he doesn't understand why she is reluctant. (and of course this is why they break up, later in the movie) Also there is the considerable conflict that "Billy" (Rob Lowe) experiences because of his unwanted family.
