Hi all, I have question regarding the DoD policy 3405.1 "Computer Programming Language Policy." On page 2, paragraph 3a, the following is stated: "...Programming languages other than Ada that were authorized and being used in full-scale development may continue to be used through deployment and for software maintenance, but not for major software upgrades." In the "Special Terms and Definitions" (page 2-1) the directive defines "Major Software Upgrade" as "Redesign or addition of more than one-third of the software." My question is this: What does "one-third of the software" mean? Is is based on each CSC, CSCI, or the entire software for a system? Does it refer to Source Lines of Code (and which metric is used), object code size, or some other metric? Any help would be appreciated! Regards, Stewart French Texas Instruments french@skvax1.ti.com
